Adidas was founded in 1949 by Adolf Dassler, following a family feud with his brother, who went on to established Puma. The two had previously been business partners in 'Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik', famously sponsoring legendary U.S. sprinter Jesse Owens at the 1936 Summer Olympics. From initial sporting successes, Adidas came to be adopted by innumerable post-war subcultures and style icons. From East Berlin creatives to the early pioneers of hip-hop and electro, from British football terraces to avant-garde fashion designers, Adidas sneakers have been the footwear of choice.

The brand's popularity in high-fashion circles has led to collaborations with the likes of Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, Stella McCartney, Kolor and Palace. Despite the immense success of its fashion collaborations and vintage re-issues, Adidas has continued to be more than a casual-wear brand, remaining at the cutting-edge of research and development in textiles and footwear in order to push the limits of technical sportswear. Innovation is key to the Adidas DNA, as the company's FutureCraft lab continues to pioneer the use of new tech, from 3D Printing to the brand's proprietary Boost, TORSION SYSTEM and Primeknit technologies. Sefton Stocks a wide range of Adidas footwear, from Adidas Originals vintage reissues including the Stan Smith and Superstar 80s, to the latest designs and high-fashion collaborations.
